What we welcome

Pitch clear, original explanations of rules, competition formats, equipment, playing places or sporting customs. Strong proposals focus on one reader question, define any specialist terms and explain why the subject is useful beyond a single match or news cycle.

What to include

Give us a working title, a short summary of the main idea, the intended reader and the points the piece would cover. Note any sources or specialist checks the subject would require, and disclose relevant commercial interests. Do not submit work that depends on unsupported claims, confidential information or permission you do not have.
